Information about the BUTLER family in the Bitton area comes from the 1769 Settlement Examination of James (the Younger) THOMPSON.

Per the agreement (and later found in local records) James m Mary BUTLER 1764, Kelston. Mary was buried Jan 6, 1766, Bitton; there were no children from this marriage. James then married Rebecca BUTLER, named as Mary's sister, February 9, 1767, Bristol.

As Mary/James married in Kelston, perhaps that's the location of this family?
